Giving Back to the Community

At Guiding Light Dental, giving back is part of who we are. Dr. Fernandez has always used her dental expertise to make a difference in people’s lives, especially those who need it most. While living in Venezuela, she volunteered her time and skills to care for individuals with special needs and to bring dental care to remote native communities with little to no access to treatment.

Her dedication didn’t stop there. After moving to the U.S., Dr. Fernandez continued to serve through organizations like Advocate Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, East Chicago Community Health, Connecticut Mission of Mercy, the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services, and Florida Mission of Mercy.

For Dr. Fernandez, volunteering is more than a responsibility—it’s a source of joy. Her commitment to service reflects the heart of Guiding Light Dental: compassionate care, community support, and a genuine desire to improve lives through dentistry.
