What Are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are custom-made, transparent trays that slowly move your teeth into alignment. While braces use brackets and wires, clear aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, drink, and care for your teeth without restrictions.

Because they are clear, they are also much less noticeable, making them an ideal option for both teenagers and adults.

How Do Clear Aligners Work?

Clear aligners work by applying controlled pressure to your teeth to shift them into the correct position.

You will wear each set of aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only when eating, drinking (other than water), brushing, or flossing. Each aligner is worn for about one to two weeks before switching to the next set.

Once you complete your clear aligner treatment, you'll need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth in their new position and prevent them from shifting back.

Are Clear Aligners Right for You?

Clear aligners are highly effective for correcting a variety of dental concerns, including:

Mild to moderate bite issues (such as overbite or underbite)

How to Clean and Take Care of Your Aligners

Rinse your aligners with lukewarm water when you remove them
Clean your aligners daily using a soft toothbrush and mild soap or aligner cleaning solution
Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the plastic
Keep your aligners in their case when you're not wearing them
