Do You Accept New Patients?

On your first visit, we’ll take time to get to know you and your dental history. The appointment typically includes:

  • A gentle exam of your teeth, gums, and jaw
  • Digital X-rays, if needed
  • A professional cleaning
  • Time to talk through any questions or concerns you have

It’s a relaxed, no-pressure visit designed to give you a complete picture of your oral health.

How Can I Take Care of My Teeth Between Check-Ups?

Taking care of your teeth at home is key. We recommend:

  • Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
  • Flossing once a day
  • Drinking water often and limiting sugary snacks and drinks
  • Wearing a mouthguard if you grind your teeth or play contact sports

And of course, keep up with your scheduled cleanings. It all adds up to better long-term oral health.

Am I Having a Dental Emergency?

If you're experiencing severe pain, swelling, bleeding, or have a broken or knocked-out tooth, you're likely dealing with a dental emergency. Other examples include infections or a tooth that suddenly becomes loose.

When in doubt, call us right away. We’ll help you figure out the next steps and get you in as soon as possible.

What Should I Do If I Break My Tooth?

If you’ve chipped, cracked, or broken a tooth:

  1. Rinse your mouth gently with warm water to clean the area and remove any debris.
  1. Check for bleeding. If there is any, gently apply gauze to the area until the bleeding stops.
  1. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your mouth or cheek near the broken tooth to help reduce swelling and ease discomfort.
  1. Collect any broken pieces, if possible, and place them in a clean container with milk or saliva to keep them moist.
  1. Avoid chewing on the side of the mouth with the broken tooth and stay away from hot, cold, or sugary foods and drinks.
  1. Call our office as soon as possible.

What Should I Do If a Tooth Gets Knocked Out?

A knocked-out tooth requires immediate attention. Here’s what to do:

  • Handle the tooth carefully—avoid touching the root.
  • If it’s clean, try to place it gently back in the socket. If not, keep it in a container of milk or saliva.
  • Call us right away. Timing is critical! We may be able to save the tooth if treated quickly.

Why Are My Teeth Yellow?

Tooth discoloration can be caused by a variety of factors, including:

  • Foods and drinks (like coffee, tea, and red wine)
  • Smoking or tobacco use
  • Natural aging and enamel wear
  • Certain medications or genetics

If you’re unhappy with the color of your teeth, we offer professional teeth whitening options that are safe, effective, and tailored to your smile goals.

Why Do I Need to Have My Tooth Taken Out?

Tooth extractions are recommended when a tooth is:

  • Severely decayed or damaged
  • Causing crowding
  • Infected beyond repair
  • Impacted, like some wisdom teeth

Our team will walk you through the process and discuss replacement options, if needed.

Why Are My Gums Bleeding?

Bleeding gums are often an early sign of gingivitis, the first stage of gum disease. They can also be caused by:

  • Brushing too hard
  • Skipping flossing
  • Certain medications or health conditions

If your gums are bleeding regularly, it’s time to schedule a visit. Early treatment can prevent more serious gum issues down the line.

When gum disease progresses, periodontal surgery may be necessary to restore your oral health. Osseous surgery reshapes the bone to reduce pockets and improve gum attachment, while soft tissue grafts restore receding gums.

Guided tissue regeneration promotes the growth of new bone and tissue, helping preserve your smile and prevent further damage.
